Synopsis:
July 1969. Man prepares to walk on the moon, but in a small town in Belgium life goes on as usual… Sort of…
Sacha’s (Marie Bunel – Ma Vie En Rose) family believes her to be in Montreal going to medical school, and maybe finding a handsome husband somewhere along the way. Instead, she found Odile, a woman, who has given her an ultimatum. Sacha needs to come out to her family at home, or the relationship is over.
So Sacha returns to Belgium to tell her family the truth, and in doing so opens the floodgates for the rest of her family to start coming clean. As their secrets are revealed we are presented with a charming yet bittersweet tale of tolerance, coming out, the ties that bind and the reminder that as often as we believe our families don’t understand us at all, there is always plenty that we fail to understand about them as well. |
