Synopsis:
Johnny is a troubled young man in Washington state who has been doubly
victimized by state law and the "correctional" institution that he is
sent to at age 16. Skipping school, because he was bullied for being
gay, he is sent to juvenile prison for three years where he is brutally
raped by a gang of boys.
Leaving reform school, he travels to Olympia, the state capitol, and
gets a job washing dishes at a downtown cafe.
A young lawyer/activist Joel is investigating gay bashing and hate
crimes in the state capitol where he meets the young Johnny and they
fall in love. Johnny's past makes it difficult for him to enter into an
intimate relationship, but Joel's understanding and caring soon win him
over.
For brunch Joel invites his rich young popcorn heir friend and a
closeted state Senator, who hit it off immediately, and they make quite
a couple.
